Increasing the Capabilities of the UAE’s Land Forces through the Procurement and Sustainment of Cutting Edge Armoured Vehicles Systems
The Armoured Vehicles UAE event has now run. A big thank you to all who participated at the carefully tailored Armoured Vehicles event for the United Arab Emirates.
Held at the Armed Forces Officers Club in Abu Dhabi, the 2011 event gathered together representatives from 10 nations to benchmark and exchange information on optimising planning and delivery of armoured vehicle programmes.
Folowing an opening address by Brigadier Mubarak Al Aryani, Commander, General Maintenance Corps, UAE GHQ, members of the armoured vehicle industry were treated to in-depth presentations from a truly international speaker faculty including Ahmad Bin Adi, Performance Director, Al Taif Technical Services, Major General Vincent Desportes, Former Commander, Joint War College, French Ministry of Defence and Brigadier Ben Barry, Senior Fellow Land Warfare, International Institute of Strategic Studies among others, who shared their insight into UAE Armoured Vehicle modernisation, different procurement methodologies used throughout the Middle East, as well as recent operational lessons learned.
