8x8 APC and AFV Focus Day: Monday 28th March
Rationale
The UAE GHQ announced in the Summer of 2011 that they had mandated Tawazun Holding to award a contract for the procurement and manufacturing of 600 8x8 armoured vehicles. A joint committee with representatives from both institutions has been formed to evaluate, assess and supervise the contract awarding
process.
Current requirements state that the UAE Armed Forces are looking for a new 600 strong fleet of wheeled armoured vehicles capable of armoured personnel carrier (APC) and armoured fighting vehicle (AFV) variants. The vehicle should provide excellent protection that promotes mobility and modularity, in addition to exceptional levels of situational awareness and lethality. The UAE Armed Forces have also requested a vehicle that provides high levels of crew comfort.
The Armoured Vehicle UAE 2012 8x8 APC and AFV Focus Day will bring together the world’s leading military and industry experts in 8x8 vehicle protection, mobility, lethality and situational awareness, as well as the UAE GHQ and Tawazun decision makers. The detailed and interactive discussions will all lead to an end goal of discussing how these solutions could benefit the UAE Armed Force’s immediate and future 8x8 APC and AFV requirements and capabilities. It is no secret that this is one of the most lucrative contracts to be announced by the UAE Armed Forces in recent years; don’t miss this opportunity to interact with the decision making unit.
